Playa del Candás & Avilés, Asturias, Northern Spain

Today is Corpus Christi religious festival day in Candás and it’s celebrated in style here. Mark and Jacky share some photos of the final street decorations adorning the streets.

Corpus Christi

It’s also our beach day. We meet Mark and Jacky at Playa del Candás for a few hours of sand, sea and sunshine plus a picnic and some crib thrown in. It’s the best day weather wise of our stay here.

Early evening we decide to go in Avilés for a curry. We take the train, us getting on at Perlora station and a couple of minutes later M & J at Candás Apeadero. A beer in the town before bhajis, three curry’s, chicken tikka, two rice and two naan, all very tasty.

Back on the train with a driver in such a rush to get home we nearly don’t press the open door button in time as we were multi tasking trying to tap off the train. Luckily he stops the train and lets us out!

On the way home

A sandy, sunny day with a tasty end.
