Cudillero, Asturias, Northern Spain

Start the day with run 1 of week 3 of the couch to 5K. Feels like it’s a big step up from week 2 but I just about manage it.

We have Mark and Jacky aboard for the short drive west to Cudillero, our base for the next three days. We haven’t had any passengers with us for a long while so had forgotten how much effort it is to get the front seats set up correctly. There’s a lot of stuff we store under them that needs to be moved out of the way. Mark kindly fits a bit of light cleaning in too!

The road to Cudillero is pretty spectacular as it’s high above the valley. We’re staying at Camping L’Amuravela, us on a pitch and M & J in a bungalow. The campsite is a mile and a half above Cudillero harbour at the top of the hill. It’s overcast today and a lot cooler which is a sharp contrast to the gorgeous weather we had yesterday.

I’ve run of data on my phone so buy an eSIM for the first time. It’s surprisingly easy to install and costs less than a tenner for 100gb of data in Spain which is fab!

We planned on a BBQ but it’s too cold and damp so around seven pm we walk to a local bar and have to get our raincoats out for the first time as it’s drizzling. Some tapas and a few drinks later and we are all feeling better.

A damp day in Northern Spain.
