Moving further south again today we have chosen Capbreton as our next stop. It’s incredibly hot today temps are in the mid thirties so we have the air con blasting away as we travel.

The campsite is called Camping La Ceville and is another ASCI site. We set ourselves up, put up the awning and open every window but it’s still like an oven inside the van. Late afternoon we decide to catch the bus into town as we are only staying one night. Getting ready is sweaty work. It’s only a 7 minute walk to the bus stop but there isn’t much shade so it’s unpleasant. The bus takes us as far as the main shopping area but not as far as the beach and port which is a further 15 minutes walk.

We decide that’s a step too far so find a bar and have a drink and then move about 100yds to a parallel street by the river to a bar with a view. Eventually we decide to eat here and enjoy the cooling temps as the sun goes down.

The plan is to catch the bus back to the campsite but the last two buses fail to appear which is irritating. It’s now after 8pm and it’s cooled down a lot so we decide to walk back. We come across a bar with live music on the way back and stop for a drink and a listen. It’s a nice way to end our visit to Capbreton.

A very hot day in France!
