Bambaugh Castle and Seahouses

Stop off at Bambaugh Castle on the way to Seahouses. It’s very impressive up high on the coast overlooking the North Sea. Enjoy wandering around the battlements outside and around the state rooms.

A few miles down the road we find our campsite, this time on a farm. Cheapest stay in UK so far at only £14 a night, and the facilities are very good. Walk the 1.2 miles into Seahouses to check out the harbour and the boat trip times for tomorrow. Find a very busy pub called The Olde Ship Inn for excellent real ale and end up joining in a fun quiz with some fellow tourists. I’m desperate for a proper Sunday lunch so we end up walking almost out of the village to a small hotel . .  Moules are delicious, roast is excellent and the lemon posset is to die for!
