Exmoor

A rainy day today that keeps us inside the van until 5pm. I enjoy rewatching the 1995 BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice.

We then take a damp and muddy walk along a footpath from the bottom of the farm through the forest and eventually to the village of Winsford. Along our route we see cows, sheep and tons of pheasants hopping on and off the path in front of us. At one point we see what looks like a pheasant nursery with loads of birds in open enclosures with feeders.

On arrival in Winsford we wander around the church and graveyard before heading for the pub via a small ford, for a pint and some food.

We take the road up and up and up the 0.9 miles back to the campsite which certainly gets the blood pumping.

Enjoy a nice sunset but clouds spoil our hoped for star gazing in this dark sky park.

A good to get out of the van day.
