Another day of lovely R&R again today. Sun is shining and it’s so wonderful to be able to eat breakfast outside. Loving chilling, reading our kindles and doing a bit of planning.
We’ve decided to book a 4th day here after we discovered that there is a train station 20 mins walk away at Grupont. Sunday is high tourist day at the caves so we are delaying our visit now to Tuesday on our way out of here. Tomorrow we are going to get the train to Namur instead.
After lunch we take a local hike. It’s a bit of an uphill start through the Clusure forest and really gets the blood pumping. Lots of cows around and great views of the valley. Pretty villages on our route too with beautifully manicured gardens. On the way back we see a wild boar sculpture, symbol for the Ardennes, an old cast iron water pump and a huge oak tree. It’s very hot work in the sunshine so we enjoy a cold one at the end.
End our day eating a fab meal at the site restaurant. Oops too busy eating to remember to take photos! Enjoying this break in the sunshine, feeling very lucky with the weather.
Enjoy our first late evening drink outside. It’s warming up nicely!
