The Trotternish Peninsula, Skye

Today we take the loop road around the peninsula from Portree.

First we pass the Old Man of Stoor. It’s impossible to stop as the car park is rammed but we manage a photo of the tip in the distance.

We stop at a fabulous viewpoint at the Least Falls on the way towards Uig. The road to this point is good.

Onwards the road is a minor single track across the island, passing close to the Quiraing, huge cliffs and pinnacles. However it’s another narrow scary road with hairpins and 15% climbs.  Not sure my heart can take it! The view of the Quiraing is spectacular though.

Uig is where you can take the ferry to the Outer Hebrides, but not today.

We are staying at a different campsite on Loch Greshornish and enjoy a night in. IMG_20190425_165326-1843x909
