Embleton Beach and Coast and Dunstanburgh Castle

Decided to do a circular walk today left towards Embleton rather than right to Craster. We walk along the inland bridleway rather than the coastal path. The fields are golden with wheat. Huge bales of hay are drying in the sunshine and farmers are busy with their combine harvesters. The path eventually follows Dunstan Links golf course so we stop for a cuppa.

Make our way through the dunes to the glorious Embleton Beach. It is sparkling in the sunshine and the sand is a gorgeous yellow. Hardly anyone here, just a few walkers, some with their dogs splashing in the surf. Best beach on our Northumberland adventure. Enjoy our butties wandering along the sand as the tide comes in.

Complete our walk back along the coast and pass by the enchanting Dunstanburgh castle again. Tired and happy at the end.

Walk the 0.5mile to Dunstan to the Cottage Inn for dinner, highlight is a shared seafood starter.mde
