We wake today planning on a morning visit to Fuente Dé to take a four minute cable car ride up into the Picos de Europa mountains for a fabulous view. Sadly we didn’t check the website beforehand and all the morning tickets are already booked! Next time maybe?

The drive to Candàs takes us back through the beautiful Hermida Gorge so we are wowed by the scenery for a second time.

A bit of shopping as we enter Candás before heading to the campsite Camping Perlora. It looks familiar and we realise we’ve stayed here before in 2018. It was our penultimate stop before heading to Santander for the ferry. It’s a lovely site right on the coast about 1km from the village along the promenade.

Around 4pm we wander in to meet our friends Mark and Jacky who are staying in a hotel on the front. Enjoy a lovely evening catching up with lots of beer and good food. Candàs is the same lively place that we remember.
