Plage Campiotel, Ars-en-Ré

We start the day with the final run of week 1 of couch to 5k. It’s hot at 27c so we are jogging very slowly fully appreciating the shady sections on the roads outside the campsite.

A shady bit!

Fresh croissants for breakfast followed by blogging and kindling until the afternoon when we walk to the beach which is only 200m away.

It’s the first use of our beach chairs which are fab and comfy. Getting out of them makes me appreciate all the squats I’ve been doing at the gym!

It’s a lovely afternoon. I don’t move at all but T wanders to the rocky waters edge for a paddle in the Bay of Biscay.

Back at camp we enjoy a cold beer at the bar and a bit later T collects a fresh pizza for us from the site takeaway which is open from six to eight pm. It’s delicious.

A fun evening playing scrabble, T wins this time, followed by a few quizzes.

A lovely relaxing day to end our stay on Ile de Ré.
