A relaxing morning in the van before heading down the hill into Leek for a wander around the town. There are silk mills transformed into businesses and housing, churches and art galleries and a market square busy on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays but not today. Many of the smaller shops appear to only open on market days.
We browse around a few shops up and down the high street which is full of the usual chains and charity shops.

Eventually we stop for lunch in a local cafe sharing a sandwich and scone before heading to a Joules brewery pub called The Cock Inn for a half. It’s a warm and welcoming pub with lots of traditional charm.

Back up the hill by 4pm just in time to miss the threatened rain.
A tasty dinner in the van courtesy of an Asda Bistro meal deal plus an episode of Sort Your Life Out followed by a terrible Netflix movie War Machine.
Sleet to send us on our way home from Leek.

Sleet to welcome us home too!

A quiet and chilly end to our trip.
