We want to visit Fano a small island off the south west coast of Denmark but it’s too expensive to take the van over for just a day or two. The ferry goes from Esbjerg but I can’t find a park up there and the campsite is £50 a night. So today we are aiming for somewhere north of Esbjerg. The plan is to drive to the ferry port tomorrow, park up and take our bikes across.

We make a pit stop to dump our toilet cassette in a pretty little camping area just off the 12. They have free shelters for people to overnight in well as toilets, a fire pit and picnic tables. Looks like a welcome way of getting out of the rain which is on and off all day.

After a few phone calls and waiting around in a car park for a couple of hours we eventually get parked up in a campsite in Ølgod. Lots more rain and a few episodes of series four of Welcome to Wrexham.

A damp day.
