A strange day today. We left Bud after a quick shop and drove to Molde. We spent an hour here in a car park on the phone trying and failing to sort out our toll tag and ferry prepayment agreement and also making a decision about which way to go.
Decision made we got on a ferry across Romsdalsfjord to Vestnes even having a cuppa on board.

A quick stop at Stordal just before one of many tunnels we travel through for magnificent views of Storfjorden.

Lovely drive through gorgeous valleys surrounded by snow sprinkled mountains and the lupins are back again.

Fabulous views across Storfjorden as we wait for our second ferry from Liabygda to Strada. The hop on/off bus arrives with it!

Wonderful drive to Grodås where our park up faces the Hornindalsvatnet, Europe’s deepest lake. It’s a gorgeous spot with only one other van there when we arrive. Locals come to swim and jump off the spring and high boards at the side of the lake into the freezing water.

We wander around the village and are very happy to find a takeaway. Kebab and salad and chips for dinner sitting in front of the lake. Bliss.

A day of two halves, the second half rocked.

Yes a very different holiday for us. In both Sweden and Norwthey don’t do pubs in the smaller places. We haven’t eaten out either except for one lunch in Trondheim and a recent takeaway. It’s keeping the costs down though as we are doing lots of miles and taking a few ferries 😘
