Tiveden National Park, Västergötland

Heading north again to the top of Lake Vättern to a campsite close to Tiveden National Park and overlooking a small lake called Bocksjön, Buck Lake. It’s a straight forward drive through undulating country.

We’re lucky and manage to get a pitch with lovely views over the lake. Best spot so far on this trip.

It’s beautiful and sunny and what a spot to enjoy lunch and a cold beer.

We while away the afternoon and eventually enjoy our first bbq of the trip.

After clearing up we wander down to the lake and endanger our lives on a rickety and wobbly wooden jetty before taking a walk around the campsite. It’s a mix of seasonal and touring camping pitches.

We sit outside until about 9:30pm when it’s just a bit too chilly even with a blanket. Start GOT season 4 in the van and Joffrey finally gets his comeuppance.

We hoped for stars as we are in the middle of nowhere and there are no lights but at 1:30am still not a twinkle in sight as it’s so light.

A sunshine day with a lovely view.
