Cirencester

Our first trip in Luci since our beautiful grandson was born last October! He’s now six months old and thriving. Just before we left, we went on our first family day trip out to Blue Planet which was enjoyed by everyone especially Elijah who was in sensory heaven.

The following day Sunday, we picked up the van and de-wintered it and loaded up for our next adventure.

We are trying somewhere new and heading off first to Cirencester in Wiltshire about a five hour drive for us including a 30 minute pit stop for a sandwich and a drink on the M5.

There is a yellow wind warning over most of Southern England so it’s a three season windy and rainy journey with hail and sunshine to greet us.

Our campsite is a very busy camping and motorhome one and not cheap at over £70 for two nights.

However it’s nextdoor to Cirencester Park and the Bathurst Estate and walking distance into town.

Our Christmas present of a new doormat gets it first outing. T complains that he is too bald on it!

After setting up we enjoy a late lunch and decide to loiter in the van for a while to allow the rain and hail to blow over! T sets up the TV with a long coax cable as satellite reception is dire here. I don’t have a SIM card to set up our fire stick and we’ve forgotten to bring DVD’s from home as back up…so terrestrial TV it is.

Around 6pm we walk into Cirencester and wander the streets for a bit. It’s a lovely old town with some gorgeous  stone buildings and a rather beautiful church. All closed now so we stop in a couple of pubs and have a pint and some dinner before wandering back to the van. A pleasant start to our trip.
