Wexford City

We leave Kilmore Quay around midday for a short hop to Wexford City only 35 minutes further north.

We are staying in the Ferrybank caravan and camping park which is at the end of Wexford bridge. It’s a great spot, on the River Slaney overlooking the water with lots of green behind us. It’s quiet, no traffic noise at all so hard to believe it’s only five minutes across the bridge into the city itself.

The sun is still shining so we sit outside with our lunch and enjoy the gorgeous weather. It really is a beautiful day again, can’t quite believe the weather we’re having. Quite the contrast to our recent stormy trip to Wales.

After an afternoon of r&r we finally rouse ourselves and wander across the bridge into Wexford around 6:30pm.

Our first stop is a pub of course the T Morris which has live music later so we may return. We try the Crown which is a lot bigger but we don’t like quite as much.

Next stop is Mi Asian Street Food which we choose based on its fab reviews. It does not disappoint. The food is excellent and the portions are generous.

Back out onto the now chillier streets.

We try a third pub Maggi Mae’s. This is lively with live music but not our cup of tea.

We return to T Morris that now has what looks like a group of musicians jamming blues and folk music. All very relaxed. We manage to get seats by the fire and enjoy the ambience.

We walk quickly back to the van across the bridge where there are a number of men fishing from the middle of of the bridge which looks a bit strange. Another good day.
