We are driving a lot further south than we planned today to Llanelli. For us it’s about 1:15 of driving time and when we add in our extended supermarket hunt and stop, quite a bit longer.
I’ve been getting good at picking supermarkets just off our route but it was 3rd times a charm today. Morrisons near Carmarthen was OK but just no space in the car park for our large van. Asda in Llanelli car park just too small and tight but Morrisons outside Llanelli was just right, just like in Goldilocks. Hopefully this is our last supermarket shop of the holiday!
Pembrey Country Park is the first Camping and Motorhome site of this trip. So far we’ve been staying at small privately owned sites and we prefer them. However the facilities can vary in quality and cleanliness whereas the big sites are more reliable but at the moment too busy.
We are close to an RAF base so watch and listen to a few flyovers.
A naughty late lunch involving pastry before the rain arrives. Then we hide inside reading for me and TV and online backgammon for T and maybe a few zzz’s.
Around 6pm we take a quick walk into the country park around the corner to wake ourselves up and enjoy some fresh air.
Supermarket scran for tea followed by fizz and red wine.
