Forest of Dean

On the move again. Slowly making our way back North.

First stop is Morrisons in Ross-On-Wye. As masks are being made mandatory we decide to start now. We bought disposable paper masks before we came away so have them at hand. It’s not as bad as we thought but our glasses do steam up a bit. Spot the rookie error, my mask is upside down.

Earlier in the week we spent hours and struggled to book something for next weekend as everyone is keen to get away post lockdown and also it’s the start of the school summer holidays. Eventually we get something for Friday and Saturday. Tony had booked this site near Coleford for Tuesday and Wednesday so we were relieved when we arrived and were able to extend another day.

We unpacked and wandered into Coleford via a footpath. It’s just over a mile so very handy. We pass a really large church on the way in which is obviously empty and for sale. Quite unusual.

There’s nothing special about the place and its a bit down at heel but we try the pubs out and share a portion of chips on the way home.

Chinese food for tea, sitting outside. For the very first time since we bought the van we enjoy sitting by a firepit we’ve hired for the duration. Just love a real fire so stay out until midnight transfixed by the flames, definitely better than the telly!
