Wales – Family, Zipwire and Caernarfon Castle!

We move onto our final destination in our Welsh  adventure, to a campsite at Waunfawr near Caernarfon. We struggled to book a site over the bank holiday weekend so this one is on a working farm and down a very long mostly narrow single track. Site is OK though and its a 15 minute walk to the local pub which suits us fine. We have to borrow chocks from the farmer as the site isn’t level, something else we need to buy!

Matt and Rach join us around 11pm. Matt’s driven from Chelmsford and Rach from Liverpool. Rach managed to overshoot the campsite in the dark and then had to reverse back down the track avoiding sheep and ditches! Gin was out immeadiately! Up late catching up and chewing the fat.

Breakfast was yummy farm produced bacon and sausage butties before heading off to Bethesda for the longest and fastest zipwire ride in the world, Velocity 2. We all really enjoyed the exhilarating rides once the butterflies passed. We then found a sports pub in Caenarfon to watch Liverpool lose to Real Madrid and finished up in the campsite local for a pint. Motorhome was cosy sleeping 4 but worked fine as we have 3 beds. Matt was in the top bunk which is a double bed that drops down from the ceiling.

Final day in Canearvon was spent touring the castle. The two history nerds Tony and Matt were in their element. Enjoyed a Welsh beef roast dinner and a beer in the local, ending a lovely day, a fabulous weekend and great trip.
