A gorgeous day to wake up to. A bacon roll for breakfast sitting outside to start the day.
We are taking the coast path to Dartmouth today. It’s a 25 minute walk to a National Trust car park and the start of the coast path. Absolutely glorious views of the English Channel and coastline. It’s a sweaty undulating wander up and down in the sunshine. The water is Caribbean shades of blue.

Eventually we arrive at Dartmouth castle and enjoy tea and a scone trying to keep the wasps away from our treat.

I decide to take the ferry into Dartmouth and T walks the final mile. I just miss one but it’s a short wait until the next. A lovely short sail into Dartmouth harbour which is busy and vibrant.

We wander along the front until we can see Dartmouth Naval College high on the hill. Find ourselves a couple of pints and watch the world go by along the busy harbour and also catch up with the kids and our grandson via video call.

By this time we are a bit peckish so we wander around the streets and buy a couple of sandwiches and then enjoy them in the sunshine. Off to find a decent pint for T we pop into a local church before enjoying one in The Cherub Inn that’s in the oldest building in Dartmouth circa 1380 and is also in the Good Beer Guide.

We find our bus stop for the return journey on the 93 and have time for a final pint sitting harbour side whilst we wait. The bus is rammed and almost empties when we get to the campsite!

Our first BBQ of the trip with delicious lamb chops outside in the sunshine before a couple of episodes of series two of Annika.

A cracker of a day.
