Heading to the bottom of Lake Vänern today the largest lake in Sweden. Vänern covers an area of 2,183 sq miles.

The drive is easy and we arrive in Vänesborg by lunchtime after a quick shop in a nearby Lidl.
The park up is lovely overlooking the lake and a marina but lasts about fifteen minutes as we and a few other motorhomes are moved on very politely by a security guard who tells us that the motorhome parking is a small section of said car park and full.

Luckily there’s a not quite so picturesque park up five minutes away where we bag a shady spot. It’s a huge gravel lot backing onto a lovely green park which then backs up to the lake.

Lunch outside followed by a little nap for T.

It’s a gorgeous sunny day so we enjoy a walk through the park and around the bottom of the lake for wonderful views. There are people fishing, sunbathing and paddling in the clear water.

We walk back through the town and just miss being able to visit the church which shuts at 5pm. This place is a mix of functional apartment blocks and lovely big houses.

Dinner sitting outside, chasing the sun under the trees and watching people play frisby golf and football golf, walk their dogs and generally amble around.

We are now onto the final season of Game of Thrones. Jon Snow is actually a Targaryen/Stark and Daenerys is not happy!
A lovely lakeside afternoon.
