Rather a strange day today. We woke up to fog covering the whole peninsula. You could hardly see a foot in front of you and certainly not the edge of the coastline or the beach. It took a few hours to burn off so it was around 1pm when we finally moved.

We are travelling to Abersoch to a campsite I booked earlier in the week as it’s now Friday and the Easter hols have started so we wanted to ensure we had a spot.
Issue one is we follow google maps until we are about three miles away and see a sign with a satnav symbol on and a lorry with a red line through it.

Obviously we turn around and end up doing a big loop and eventually arrive at the campsite. When we arrive she can’t find our booking. Issue 2! It turns out I paid £25 to another campsite with the same name many miles away! She doesn’t have a spot so sends us to her cousin. The cousins campsite turns out to be nearly four miles out of the village. We decide not to stay there and find ourselves an alternate, about 0.25 mile from the original one! So sorted eventually lol.
The new campsite is lovely, overlooking the village surrounded by fields full of sheep and cows with a very smart bathroom block.

We enjoy a late lunch outside and then use the facilities before eventually getting changed and wandering down to the village.
There’s a river and a lovely harbour.

We stop for a drink in the conservatory of a pub called Zinc overlooking the river Soch and then visit the Vaynol pub and end up watching The Masters golf.

A wander down to the harbour whilst considering where to eat and eventually we decide to get burgers at the Mañana Mexican restaurant takeaway, sitting outside in the sunshine. They are delicious.

A pub crawl ensues where we try the St Tudwals Inn, Apres Sea bar and finally the Hub. A fun night. Abersoch is buzzing.

A hike up the hill followed by My Cousin Vinny on DVD. It’s a classic. A good day with a slightly annoying start.
