Another glorious day in Wales. A leisurely start before wandering out for the day. We turn right this time out of the campsite and quickly left heading to the beach.

We pass the cute duck pond and are very soon at the coast. The cliffs to our left are slipping and being pinned so the route to the beach is a scaffolding staircase that’s feels rather rickety. I hold on tight thinking of the people I know who would not make it down here!

Our destination is towards the end of the beach just before the headland. It’s very quiet with a few dog walkers and a couple of families. The coastline itself looks rather crumbly and we can see the old fence line collapsing at the edge.

We take a cutting off the beach through to a stairway and path up to a site full of statics. Once we get to the road we realise we left the beach one stop too early and have to walk down the road for 500m to the cafe in Wern recommended by our campsite owner Lorraine.

Sitting outside in the sunshine eating delicious sandwiches is a lovely way to do a late lunch.

We want to avoid the road so T finds a slightly roundabout route to Nefyn that avoids walking the road again but after 10mins there’s an uphill scramble across a patch covered in small rocks that I do not fancy attempting in my sandals. Back to the road then along a stretch with zero pavement. Luckily it’s not too busy and the drivers all helpfully pull right out as they pass.

We wander into Nefyn and our first stop is a churchyard. The church is actually a museum now but doesn’t open until Easter.

A quick pit stop in a pub where everyone speaks fluently in Welsh and English depending on who they are talking to. It gets us wondering how they approach making sure kids are bilingual.

On through Nefyn to the local brewery where we again sit outside in the sunshine.

Another half mile to the campsite for a quick change into warmer gear before heading out to our local. As there’s no footpath we again have to walk up a couple of roads but we get there in 15mins.

A couple of drinks and starters to end our day before heading home just before sunset.

See some locals on the way home.

Another lovely day with a 17.1k step count for me and over 20k for T who went for a trot this morning!
