Veulettes-sur-Mer on the Côte d’Albâtre, Normandy

The Alabaster Coast, 130 kilometers of seafront and chalk cliffs, runs along most of the coast of the Seine-Maritime region of Normandy. We saw these cliffs in Étretat and now at Veulettes-sur-Mer we are seeing them again.

We have moved nearly 40 miles along the coast for an overnight spot near the beach. It’s €9 to park with grey and black waste facilities. You can also buy 100L of water for €4. There are toilets too but they need a good clean so we won’t use them. It’s a busy spot gradually filling up over the afternoon and evening.

T goes for a walk up the headland and I do some blogging and reading.

Late afternoon we wander out along the river running behind the site and along the promenade and pebbly beach. It’s a small seaside town, with a few hotels, restaurants and bars, one shop, a casino and a crazy golf course. The sun is shining and the water looks turquoise.

We stop for a beer overlooking the beach and sea. It’s warm enough without long sleeves which is a nice change.

Back to the campsite where we  enjoy chicken salad again, watch Netflix and see a beautiful sunset.

A chill and sunny day.
