Woken up around 6am by torrential rain hammering on the roof. It’s still going strong by 9am when we are due to get organised and ready the van to move. As we are likely to get very wet and the rain isn’t due to stop until mid afternoon we change our plan. No Étretat today instead we’ll stay put and move tomorrow instead.

Eating what’s left in our fridge across three meals and reading a lot is how we spend the day.

T has to brave the outside to empty the toilet cassette. The river running in front of the statics is unrecognisable from yesterday. Muddy brown and running high and fast. The site owner tells him that down the road there’s been flooding but it should be cleared by tomorrow.

Early evening it’s finally stopped and we wander out to take a shower. In a few hours the river is now falling but still fast and muddy.

Netflix to end our do nothing, stuck inside the van day.
A damp day.

just binge watched (like a Netflix series😂) on your previous trips to Ireland and the Peak District as didn’t get chance to read first time round. They were brilliant so can’t wait to read all about your current adventure. Keep up the good work 🥰
