Sunshine at Camping de la Vallée, Gueures

Unusually we sleep late today and happily wake to sunshine. The lake is sparkling.

Sitting outside we enjoy pancakes, crispy bacon and maple syrup for breakfast.

It’s a day for catching some rays and reading and generally enjoying this lovely spot.

Eventually we take a wander around the lake. It’s pretty and very well tended.

Quite a few fishermen here today catching and releasing.

Our pitch across the lake looks idyllic.

On both sides of the river which fronts the statics area of the campsite are lovely gardens with beautiful flowers and shrubs. There are also a couple of  petanque courts and a small basketball court. A kind gentleman gives us a few homegrown tomatoes.

Eventually we enjoy a third BBQ and a drink or two. Tomatoes are sweet and delicious. We are planning on moving early-ish tomorrow as rain is expected, so at dusk we pack away the groundsheet and pull in the awning as we don’t want them to get wet.

A few quizzes by candlelight to end our evening. It cools quickly so I have my joggers, hoodie and blankets at the ready!

A wonderfully relaxing day in a lovely setting.
