Hathersage

A slow start to our day today. We enjoy breakfast outside as it’s another sunny and warm start.

After Elijah’s nap we all get ready to go swimming! We’ve booked a session at a local open air swimming pool in a village called Hathersage about seven miles away. It’s the pools 88 th anniversary today. It’s now grey overhead but the threatened rain hasn’t arrived and it’s still warm.

It’s a lovely facility and well attended. Lots of families here. It’s a tad colder in the water than we’d like but ok once you get your shoulders in. There’s a bandstand with a very listenable duo playing songs including Pink Floyd and Simon and Garfunkel. Elijah has a wonderful time splashing around and doesn’t mind getting wet at all. He has a very strong leg action so a future Olympian in the making.

We stop for a pint and I manage to get Elijah to fall asleep for a nap after his exertions. Go Grams!

Back on site we get fish and chips all round onsite from a visiting van which are delicious and filling.

We enjoy a lovely evening sitting outside until late, chewing the fat whilst the small noisy one slumbers in the van.

A lovely day.
