Fivemiletown

Starting our journey towards home today travelling in the direction of Belfast. We’ve booked a ferry on Monday morning and want to cross Ireland in a few hops.

After much procrastination I decide on a campsite called Round Lake in Fivemiletown in County Tyrone in Northern Ireland which is a couple of hours away. We try and find a picnic stop on Lower Lough Erne but it’s really difficult to find a big enough one that’s not busy and has a view. In the end we give up.

Sandwiches as soon as we arrive and then a walk around   half mile Round Lake. It’s a council run site with only eight pitches and ok but definitely overpriced at £33. The park and track is well used by families, dog walkers, and people exercising.

Cottage pie in the van then eventually we get ready to explore the village. We basically do a mini crawl of the four pubs and it’s a circular route from the park along Main Street.

First is the Perfect Pint where we enjoy a bit of banter about Ronaldo. Happily from my perspective Georgia are beating Portugal in the Euros. Next is the The Valley Hotel, then quickly onto Scott’s Bar which is busy and finally Downey’s Jubilee Bar.

Back to the van via Round Lake.

A quiet day.
