Today we are heading to the south coast. The original plan was to stop at Lymington but I couldn’t find a campsite. So instead we are between Lymington and Bournemouth about two miles from Milford on Sea.
Taddiford Farm campsite is a Camping and Motorhome CL site on a small farm and has a bus stop on the doorstep. We get electric and somewhere to dispose of waste but that’s it.

We arrive in time for a late lunch in the van. It’s a bit grey and windy outside with the occasional spot of rain (photos above are from following morning lol). After much discussion and examination of bus timetables we decide to walk into Milford along the coastal path and eventually get the bus back.

It’s windy but lovely with clear views of Isle of Wight and the Needles across the Solent. T reminds me of the defeat of the Spanish Armada describing where the English fleet hid before the battle.

The coast is eroding away and there are signs up about plans to move the coastal path back from the crumbling edge. As we wander along we can see where there have been rock falls and at certain points where the path literally disappears. As we get closer to the town we see signs indicating that a part of the beach is closed and beach huts are literally falling down the slope towards the beach.

We enjoy the mainly level coastal stroll and stop on the promenade for a cuppa.

Our next stop is at The Beach House hotel where we enjoy a beer looking out across the Solent. It rains whilst we are here we are happy not to be walking.

Wandering further into Milford on Sea we walk through the village to the Smugglers Inn pub and share a ploughman’s very late lunch with a pint.
Our final stop is at a little micro brew pub called The Wash House which was very busy with Friday evening drinkers. We enjoy a final fizz and beer before catching the last bus of the day at 7pm, back to the van. Dinner and Netflix to end another enjoyable day.
