We’ve decided to go south and west today to chase some better weather. French weather just isn’t very good at the moment, lots of cloud and rain and not quite warm enough so no guarantees but our fingers are crossed.

We are travelling to Troyes to stay on an Aire within walking distance of the town. It’s a 250km journey and will take probably 4.5 hours in the van so we decided to use the toll roads this time. It knocks an hour off the journey.

We leave just after 10am and pay €23 in tolls. It’s a straight forward journey and we find an Intermarche to stop at, just outside Troyes. We arrive at the campsite around 2pm and it’s busy. There are 37 pitches and when we arrive there’s about 7 available.

The sun is shining at last so we enjoy a lovely lunch sitting outside. Sadly after a couple of hours it’s raining again. We manage to sneak out around 7pm for a wander in the immediate area. There’s a few restaurants but all are shut on a Monday however we take a few photos of The Seine River that crosses the road just near to where we are staying.

Bits and bobs for dinner whilst watching Netflix. The rain is heavy now. Fingers crossed that it’s ok tomorrow so we can explore Troyes.
