Burscough Bridge to Budapest….

Our final interail trip begins. For the first time we are travelling out by train rather than flying.

The journey begins at Burscough Bridge at 11.15am where we catch a train to Wigan Wallgate before crossing the road to catch the London train from Wigan North Western.

We have sandwiches and snacks with us from home and we bought cold beer from a local shop. It’s a good job. The journey is straightforward until we near Watford and then we stop. Sadly there’s a fatality at Bushy so we are held up for two and a bit hours until we are eventually rerouted via the slow line into London Euston. We land in Eynsford after 6pm.

A visit to the Malt Shovel for a pint in the garden followed by a meal at Mark and Jacky’s before an early night.

Hopefully our adventure into Europe tomorrow is a little smoother.
